Award season is here! The 2016, 73rd annual Golden Globes aired January 10. For all of you who wouldn’t know what award show was going on if it wasn’t for social media, here’s a quick breakdown of all the best, worst, and most memorable outfits of the night form all the hottest celebrities!
Lady Gaga looks stunning wearing a custom-made black Versace gown. Channeling her old Hollywood glam style, she looks absolutely stunning, and for good reason. These were the first golden globes she has even been nominated for!
Taraji P. Henson strutted her style in an ivory silk Stella McCartney number, resembling that of a Greek goddess. She accentuating her look with Kimberly McDonald earrings set with emeralds, a gold chain Falabella clutch (not pictured), and a sleek lob haircut.
Brie Larson, who usually opts for a minimalist look, stepped up her style in a beautifully beaded Calvin Klein dress. Her slicked back hair and bronze makeup added to the allure of her ensemble, while the side cutouts really made her standout.
Jaimie Alexander looked stunning in this emerald and black gown by Italian designer Genny. Her plunging neckline was quite the eye-catcher, and gave her look a little va va voom. The thick fabric paired with the unique geometric patterns gave her an edge on the red carpet.
Jennifer Lawrence (JLaw for short), unfortunately didn’t follow through on her promise to twin with BFF and comedian Amy Schumer on the red carpet. However, she stunned fans in an original red cutout gown by Dior. This elegant gown, paired with her statement necklace and platinum blonde locks was absolutely perfect for the Golden Globes.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a 28 year old model announced her engagement to beau Jason Statham at the Golden Globes. She stole the show in a gold sequined halter dress by Versace, which matched her golden locks.
Malin Ackerman wears an updated version of the “peplum” trend, looking beautiful in a form-fitting lavender Reem Acra gown, a silver clutch, and minimal jewelry. Although, it looks like we could do without all the extra fabric at her feet. What do you think?
Zendaya Coleman, (simply known as Zendaya), looked very mature wearing a Marchesa Pre-Fall 2016 maroon jacquard tiered gown. Zendaya never ceases to amaze us as she yet again out dresses many others at only 19. Her dress is feminine without being too girly, and looks as if it were made for her.
Jenna Dewin; famously known as changing Tatum’s wife, has collected a large following for herself over the years. She looks jaw-dropping in a Zuhair Murad navy and silver embellished gown. The plunging neckline definitely made a statement- and proves they’re not going out of style anytime soon.
Lily James donned a mint, blue, and lavender (although it looks white) hand-draped gown by Marchesa with an over-the-shoulder cape. Greek goddess-style gowns are seen year after year, however this is definitely a new twist that is sure to be remembered.
