Deciding between a BB or CC cream can become quite the challenge because one would think they’re pretty much the same thing, right? Yes and no. They each possess qualities that are the same, however they are a little different. First let’s start off with what they actually stand for; “BB” = Beauty Balm and “CC” = Color Corrector. Did that help at all? No? Keep reading… I’ll break it down for you so you can get a better understanding along with some suggestions.

  • Non-brightening primer
  • Light foundation
  • Moisturizer & sunscreen
  • Has built in anti-aging properties

  • Skin brightening primer
  • Light foundation
  • Moisturizer & sunscreen
  • Has anti-aging ingredients
  • Sometimes collagen boosters

As you can see, they are pretty similar. Deciding between the two is really up to you, what you’re looking to achieve, your skin type, etc. Keep in mind that BB creams are a bit heavier and are better for dry skin, while CC creams are a tad lighter and focuses on concealing existing issues (such as acne scars). They are both pumped up versions of tinted moisturizers with added benefits and can easily be worn and do the job for when you don’t feel like applying a full face of makeup. Think of it as a quick fix for a skin boost. You can apply with a beauty blender (if you don’t have one, I highly recommend them; they are a lifesaver) or just use those good ole’ fingers.
