FROM N**GER TO N**GA (THE NEW SLAVE)

The thoughts expressed within this article are my personal thoughts. Let’s make ourselves aware of the underlying epidemics happening within our community.

Why can we no longer watch the news without seeing countless segments on black brothers killing one another? Why is the teenage pregnancy rate among young black girls so high? Why are black women being forced to raise children alone in dire conditions? The question we really would like answered: where are the strong black men?

This may very well be the question of the decade. The structure of the black man is declining. We see it from the music videos to the barber shops. The conversations are changing. Instead of discussing what can be done to raise up the community, discussions of sex, drugs, money, & violence is the focus.
The crime rate between young black males have increased dramatically over the past century. Every minute another black male is being gunned down by another black male.
I have known too many lives be cut short due to unnecessary violence. Lives that can not be returned through a prayer and a cry. These people had families and dreams. What gives someone the right to take that away from
them? When we kill our brothers and sisters, we are killing ourselves. We are killing the generations after us. Haven’t we had enough?

Let’s try this: stop blaming the system. We can blame the system all day, but the system does not force anyone to pick up a gun and kill their own brother over nonsense. We are blaming everyone but who needs to be blamed…ourselves.
This is a two way street. If some black women would stop worshipping the foolishness of a black male, you will see a change. Stop bringing thugs around your son to teach him how to be a man. He can’t. Stop having babies by men who don’t understand their purpose. It’s a proven fact that the blind can not lead the blind.

Understand, there is a difference between a man and a male. A male has the physical anatomy of a man, but they are two different creatures. The male seeks attention, is self righteous, abuses his women, & has no respect for self. The man, on the other hand, does not seek attention but instead walks in humility. He treats his women with respect and love because he knows she is the gateway through which life flows. He protects her. He respects himself. You will know the difference in him when you see him.

I’m appalled at how we are hundreds of years removed from slavery and yet we are still enslaved. We are new slaves. Except this kind of slavery is worse. Instead of being shackled down by a massa’, we are shackled down by a mentality. Bound by a mentality which tells us to get ahead, we must first bring down. We must kill and manipulate to receive our resources. We are not equal.

We are trying to find the difference in the times. We were slaves then and we are slaves now.

One thing is clear, black man, we need you. We can not raise our children alone. We can not allow our women to be made to feel inferior. We can not continue to overlook what is happening within the community. We have torn away what the black man once stood for. Were we better off then or now?
