SPORTS: WESTBROOK TAKES ALL-STAR MVP FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW

Russell Westbrook, Guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, recently won his second All-Star MVP in a row this past Sunday at the All-Star game in Toronto. Westbrook brought in 31 points, which was a team-high, as well as 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals, all in 22 minutes.

Westbrook told ESPN that he was surprised to win the award for two years in a row, but was “happy and blessed to be in the game again and for the opportunity”.

Being a part of the Western Conference setting a record high 196 points against the Eastern team with 173, Westbrook also made history being the only player to win outright back-to-back MVP awards.
