Free agency has started in the NBA and teams are not wasting any time. Players are meeting with other teams, players are receiving max deals with their original teams, and some players are simply waiting to see what other players are going to do. However, the teams in the NBA are coming hard at the players they want.

Maybe the biggest free agency conversation going on right now is about Kevin Durant. Durant has met with the Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs so far. There is a bit of a money situation when dealing with the Clippers, due to the fact of having so much star power already on the team. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and Deandre Jordan already require a lot money. It will be hard to put a high demand player like Durant in that line up. Durant’s three hour meeting with the Spurs may have been an important one. The Spurs have the money, they just have to sell Durant the right pitch to get him. There is also the option of Durant staying in Oklahoma City. As of now Durant has not made a decision on where he will be playing next year.

One move that has been recorded as of today is the Atlanta Hawks acquiring Dwight Howard. Dwight has had problems lately with finding a team suited for him. Howard has said before that he didn’t want to play in his home town of Atlanta, but things have changed since then. Dwight has been looking for a place he will be loved since he left Orlando. He feels that now is as best time as any to return home. He feels like the Hawks are really welcoming him and he is ready to prove himself once again. The Hawks have signed Howard to a 3 year deal where he will receive 70.5 million dollars.

Another player who has been locked down during free agency as of today is Bradley Beal. Beal has decided to sign with the Washing Wizards and continue playing with them. Beal was the 4th overall pick in 2012. Beal had a good season this year. The talented shooting guard averaged 17 points on the season and was continuously an impact player for the Wizards. Beal has received a 5 year deal, where he will make 126 million dollars.

Free agency is still going on with more players involved and more deals being made. It will be interesting to see where other players end up and how teams try to better themselves for next season.
