The hip-hop icon is set to executive produce eclectic songstress Ms. Erykah Badu’s new indie film, The Land. The film-which will make its debut at Sundance Film Festival-is said to be centered on the dawning of four teenage boys from Cleveland, Ohio as they take a journey of self discovery while getting caught up in a drug pin.
The plot is typical for the conscious Badu, and Nas is not so unfamiliar with film himself.
He starred in the hit film Belly back in 1998 alongside fellow rapper DMX. Although this is the first time he will be executive producing a film, I believe Nas’s touch will add the edge that the film needs.
